Easter Services at St Mary’s

Published: 4th April, 2023

Everyone is welcome to join in our celebration of Easter, the most joyful day in the Christian year, when we celebrate our Lord’s triumph over death.

Saturday 8th April ~ Holy Saturday

8pm Easter Vigil and First Mass of Easter (St Mary’s), followed by refreshments in the Chantry House.
The Easter Vigil begins in the Chantry House; we then process through the churchyard for the lighting of the Easter fire outside the West doors, before entering church. This is the most intense and, ultimately, joyful service of the Christian year (and also the longest!) – all are encouraged to attend!

Sunday 9th April ~ Easter Day
8am Holy Communion (BCP) (St Mary’s)
9.30am Sung Eucharist, Holy Baptism and Blessing of the Easter Garden (St Mary’s), followed by Easter Egg hunt and coffee in the Rectory garden
