This is my body, which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me.

The Eucharist – also known as the Mass or Holy Communion – is the primary act of Christian worship, and is at the heart of the life of St Mary’s, in obedience to the Lord’s command. St Mary’s is an active church within the Diocese of Oxford. The church has an outstanding choral and liturgical tradition.

Every Sunday
8:00 am Holy Communion (BCP)
9:30 am Sung Eucharist with Junior Church or All Age Eucharist
On the first Sunday of the month, there is usually Parish Breakfast, served in the Chantry House from 8.30am.
4:00 pm Evening Prayer (Said) (BCP)

Third Sunday of the month
4:00 pm Choral Evensong (BCP)

Every Tuesday
9:00 am Morning Prayer in the stalls (BCP)
7:30 pm Holy Eucharist in St Leonard’s Chapel, usually offered for peace

Every Wednesday
9:00 am Morning Prayer in the stalls (BCP)
12noon Holy Eucharist in St Leonard’s Chapel

Every Thursday
9:00 am Morning Prayer in the stalls (BCP)
10:00 am Holy Eucharist (traditional language) with homily, in the Lady Chapel, followed by coffee

Every Friday
9:00 am Morning Prayer in the stalls (BCP)
12:00 pm Holy Eucharist in St Leonard’s Chapel, usually offered for the sick and suffering, Requiem on third Friday of the month

BCP indicates a service using the Book of Common Prayer, the historic liturgy of the Church of England. Other services are taken from Common Worship.

The usual weekly pattern of services is shown above. At certain times of year this pattern is varied to accommodate special services, especially in the period approaching Christmas, and during Lent, Holy Week and Easter.
